F. William Engdahl:Dalai Lama’s odd friends

This section is a part of the article ‘Risky Geopolitical Game: Washington Plays ‘Tibet Roulette’ with China’, which is originally published by The Centre for Globalisation Research, Canada. (see here)The author is F. William Engdahls, an economist and writer. In this section, Mr. Engdahl highlights the relation between Dalai Lama and Gestapo chief Heinrich Himmler, Heinrich Harrer, and Augusto Pinochet, the dictator of Chile. Here is the article:

Dalai Lama’s odd friends

In the West the image of the Dalai Lama has been so much promoted that in many circles he is deemed almost a God. While the spiritual life of the Dalai Lama is not our focus, it is relevant to note briefly the circles he has chosen to travel in most of his life.

The Dalai Lama travels in what can only be called rather conservative political circles. What is generally forgotten today is that during the 1930’s the Nazis including Gestapo chief Heinrich Himmler and other top Nazi Party leaders regarded Tibet as the holy site of the survivors of the lost Atlantis, and the origin of the “Nordic pure race.”

When he was 11 and already designated Dalai Lama, he was befriended by Heinrich Harrer, a Nazi Party member and officer of Heinrich Himmler’s feared SS. Far from the innocent image of him in the popular Hollywood film with Brad Pitt, Harrer was an elite SS member at the time he met the 11 year old Dalai Lama and became his tutor in “the world outside Tibet.” While only the Dalai Lama knows the contents of Harrer’s private lessons, the two remained friends until Harrer died a ripe 93 in 2006.1

That sole friendship, of course, does not define a person’s character, but it is interesting in the context of later friends. In April 1999, along with Margaret Thatcher, and former Beijing Ambassador, CIA Director and President, George H.W. Bush, the Dalai Lama demanded the British government release Augusto Pinochet, the former fascist dictator of Chile and a longtime CIA client who was visiting England. The Dalai Lama urged that Pinochet not be forced to go to Spain where he was wanted to stand trial for crimes against humanity. The Dalai Lama had close ties to Miguel Serrano2, head of Chile’s National Socialist Party, a proponent of something called esoteric Hitlerism. 3

Leaving aside at this point the claim of the Dalai Lama to divinity, what is indisputable is that he has been surrounded and financed in significant part, since his flight into Indian exile in 1959, by various US and Western intelligence services and their gaggle of NGOs. It is the agenda of the Washington friends of the Dalai Lama that is relevant here.

Of course, pictures are more powerful evidence:

  2. Thanks for sharing the information.
Dalai Lama is certainly not as divine as he is promoted to be. If Dalai is truly divine, then why he befriends with a group of Nazi Party high-ranking officials?
Just as the old saying goes, if you want to someone’s personality, just watch who are his friends
Brad Pitt is boycotted by Chinese movie goers because of his role in . This movie was regarded by many Chinese as a distorted portray of Tibet history.

  5. FYI, William Engdahl and Centre for Research on Globalization have both retracted this article because Engdahl included false info in it:

Engdahl’s writings are unreliable to say the least.

  8. Looks like the Trace Foundation threatened globalresearch.ca with a lawsuit it cannot afford. Rather than detail so-called inaccuracies gr.ca simply directs readers to Trace’s official site. Not exactly convincing proof that anything Engdahl writes is suspect.

    • EVIL are always better funded. Bad men will always stick together, good men have other interest and are not concerned with world manipluation and domination. Being a son of a former slave of old tibet under the dictatorship of dalai l. and the former dalai lama’s we know what he really is, a living and breathing reincarnation of a MONSTER, the BEAST, just like his predecessors. He does not speak for us tibetians of the former slave and serf class and our families. Here’s a little unknown fact, EVERYTHING he says is a lie about how us commoners lived. that 3% hide under those robes and in their kingdom away from the rest of us who they enslaved, beat, scarificed in their rituals, they burn people you know? Gosh the ones leaving comments on here who are protecting him are being paid to do so or are you dumbasses. Dalai lies followers, I bet you are all German, and your families were part of the army.
yeah, believe Harrer who wrote 7 yrs in tibet, that’s very smart of you, believe in a former leader of hitler’s SS. wow that’s smart of you! I have garbage I can sell to you, its really valuable, if you eat it, you can have any wish you like for only $10,000, oh you want to buy 3? okay sure.
the truth is always trying to chase a well dressed lie, but eventually truth will catch up to you and you will be unmasked as nothing more than a big lie. Dalai L(tenzin gyotso), lived a very different life along with the rest of the ruling class, while us, the majority lived in utter despair. Where was his compassion then? We had no chance to move up in the world, is that fair? There was no education, no schools. My family of slaves and the serfs couldnt even own our own land, they gave us nothing but beatings, chained us, offered us as sacrifice if anyone tried to stand up to them, that was their army of monks job. yes, they are violent! they are not better than us just because they wear those robes, they are not good just because they hide behind those robes. hitler can wear a robe, will you think he’s suddenly a good person? get real dalai dumbos.
